Fromages is thought as a cheese-aging cellar that brings together 200 drawings by Jochen Gerner, following on from his Oiseaux (2021) and Dogs (2023) series.

This work, created with pigmented India ink markers on school notebooks, represents a new graphic experiment. From Roquefort to farmhouse Munster, including Tomme de Savoie, Époisses, Brie Noir, Comté, Brousse du Rove, Chevrotin des Aravis, aged Cantal, and even Babybel… The wide variety of cheeses depicted offers as many possibilities for exploring reliefs, textures, and shapes as allowed by the grid, the layering of lines, and the combination of colors.

These drawings were created between March 2025 and April 2026, following Jochen Gerner’s culinary and geographical wanderings.

This serie showcases an infinite variety of cheeses, textures, aromas, and flavors, rendered with remarkable technical skill and great sensitivity.
