S’asseoir au Louvre presents all the furniture designed by the designer Martin Szekely as part of a commission from the Louvre Museum. From armchairs designed specifically for security guards to benches for visitors, not forgetting the several hundred “sit-stands” scattered throughout the 404 rooms of the museum, this book reviews the design and production process that guided the development of this project. An introduction by Jean-Luc Martinez, the current president and director of the Louvre, reviews the history of furniture design within the museum, and a series of photographs taken by Fabrice Gousset shows the pieces designed by Martin Szekely.
S’asseoir au Louvre is the sixth book to be published in the series launched in 2017 focusing on the work of Martin Szekely.
