Since the beginning of 2000s, in the continuation of its study of the work Tintin in America untitled Tnt in America, Jochen Gerner began in particular to sound graphically and plastically the printed images. These initial documents come from diverse sources and are of different kind by their sizes and origins: illustrated books, comics, postcards, movie posters, printed rasters, catalog of furnishing.
This first monograph gathers the work of research and reflection led by Jochen Gerner on the relationships that can maintain the text and the image, the typefaces and the lines. More globally, this book includes a big part of drawings realized on the ground of experiment defined by the printed media.
