Stéphane Sauzedde, born in 1973, is the director of the École Supérieure d’Art in the greater Annecy area (ESAAA). He tries to avoid isolated work as much as possible, stubbornly insisting on a pluralist approach that combines academic research (as an art historian, he is affiliated with a Lyon-Grenoble research unit known as LARHRA–UMR, researching issues of the production of contemporary art), curatorship (he founded the OUI art center in Grenoble, where he has organized numerous projects, and in Annecy he is currently preparing a group show on the theme of savagery for 2012), publishing activities (he regularly writes on theoretical issues and the work of young artists), and the organization of wide-ranging projects.
