Paul Renner (DE) (1878-1956) was a graphic designer and typographer. Member of the Deutscher Werkbund, he designed a lot of covers for the publisher Georg Müller and created the well-known typeface Futura. He taught at the Frankfurter Kunstschule and was also the Director of the Grafische Berufsschulen and the Meisterschule für Deutschlands Buchdrucker, in Munich. Two of his major texts are Typographie als Kunst (1922) and Die Kunst der Typographie (1939).
