Patricia Van Schuylenbergh holds a PhD in History (2006) and a Master of Arts (Development) (1989) from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL, Belgium). She is currently Head of the Department of History and Politics at the Royal Museum for Central Africa in Tervuren and visiting professor at the Department of History (UCL). She is also co-director of the “Overseas” collection by PIE-Peter Lang editions. She writes numerous contributions on the colonial history of Central Africa, especially on the history of environment, nature conservation, colonial sciences, collections and visual representations. She has participated in several exhibitions in Belgium, and continuously works on valorising and digitising audio-visual collections.
