Latifa Laâbissi studied contemporary dance in France before continuing her training at Merce Cunningham Studio in New York. Since 1990, she has worked as a dancer and choreographer. She has created Phasmes (2001) and I love like animals (2002); co-authored Love (2004) with Loïc Touzé; initiated Habiter (2005) and Distraction (2006); and choreographed Self Portrait Camouflage (2006), Histoire par celui qui la raconte (2008), Loredreamsong (2010), La Part du rite (2012) and Écran somnambule (2012).
